Engineous Consulting launched in 2021 where Antrim Consultants rebranded after being in the industry since 2012.

Phil Huse-White has close to 30 years of local body civil engineering and has been in business since forming Antrim Consultants in 2012 where we re-branded as Engineous Consulting in 2021. We have since grown the team to 10 engineers and administrative staff and provide engineering support to our client base of Architects, Planners and Surveyors that we regularly work with.

We have built a reputation with other industry professionals (architects, surveyors, and planners), developers, and local government for being approachable, dependable, and providing a great product while working through the process with our clients.

Our approach is based on using our experience and expertise to enable your developments to proceed with ease. We can translate complex information and processes to make them easy for you, regardless of the scope of the project whether it is a small 2 lot subdivision, or a larger 30+ lot development. We also understand the importance of strong communication and great working relationships. In short, we speak your language, and we can be trusted to get it right.

We pride ourselves on providing clear and efficient designs that not only comply with the relevant design guidelines but also translate into cost effective construction costs which benefit the developer.

We are a friendly and professional team of civil engineers, project managers and admin staff located in a bright and sunny office in West Auckland. We offer a fun, relaxed and enjoyable work environment that provides a great work-life balance where we promote professional development and have a great team culture. We pride ourselves on our staff wanting to come to work each day.

Phil Huse-White – Managing Director

Phil started his career at Works Consultancy Services (now WSP Opus) in 1994 as a civil draughting officer in the Auckland Office working on major motorway projects within the Auckland Region. After 4 years he then moved on to a smaller civil and structural engineering consultancy where he progressed from staff engineer to Associate Director over the 14 years with them. Being a smaller company, this gave Phil the experience and knowledge of seeing a job through from initial project brief, surveying, design and draughting to construction supervision and sign-off. In 2012, Phil then formed his own civil consulting business which he had grown over 8 years and employed a number of staff.

Phil completed his N.Z.C.E. (Civil) in 1998, gained REA accreditation in 2004, and more recently REAcap in 2018. He was nominated to the Engineering Associates Registration Board in February 2020 and elected to Deputy Chair in December 2020.

One highlight of Phil’s career was working with WaterCare management to ensure that REAs were included in the final version of their Compliance Statement Policy for Producing Water and Wastewater Infrastructure within the Auckland region. This was critical to Phil, being a REA, and being able to continue to practice and run his business successfully where design and construction supervision certification are required. Phil is keen to continue to work with other territorial authorities to ensure that the REA is continued to be recognised as a valuable professional accreditation within the industry.

Outside work Phil’s interests include his AC Cobra sportscar and spending time with his wife and kids fishing in the Hauraki Gulf.
